Basketball Hoop Installation: what to expect & FAQs

Portable and in-ground hoops — assembled, set plumb and the backboard levelled by a Vetted, Certified local expert, ready for the first game. Every request is fixed-price upfront and backed by our 100% Happiness Guarantee.

What’s included

  • Complete assembly of the pole, backboard, rim and net to the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Portable hoops: base assembled and filled, height mechanism tested
  • In-ground hoops: anchor kit set in concrete on the first visit, pole and backboard mounted on the return once it has cured
  • Backboard levelled and pole plumbed; a final stability check
  • Packaging flattened and left in your on-site bins

What’s not included

  • The hoop — you supply it; we supply the expert
  • Digging permits or utility locates; check with your locality before an in-ground install
  • Anchors, bolts and fixings beyond what ships in the box — you supply the hardware on every securing or anchoring add-on
  • Concrete beyond what the product page offers; supply your own and the price drops on the page

What the price is and what moves it

Hoop installation starts at $185 for a portable youth hoop. Backboard size and portable-vs-in-ground set the price; in-ground installs include the two visits the concrete needs.

  • Backboard sizes on the page: 50, 54, 60 and 72 inches
  • Tempered-glass backboard upgrade, where offered: +$100
  • Supply your own concrete on an in-ground install: −$80 to −$85
  • Move Boxes to Backyard: +$105 to +$125 (pallets left on the driveway are heavy — add this if you cannot move them)
  • Pick-up & delivery from the retailer, where offered: from $255
  • Haul-away of packaging off-site: +$99 (otherwise flattened and left in your on-site bins)
  • A few states carry a small location adjustment; it appears in your price the moment you choose your location

Brands we install

First Team, Lifetime, Spalding, Goalrilla, MegaSlam, Ironclad and Silverback are the hoops most requests are for — and the service is the same for any brand from any retailer. Portable hoops are single-visit; in-ground hoops are two visits by design — always fixed-price upfront.

Common questions

Why does an in-ground hoop take two visits?
The anchor kit is set in concrete on the first visit and needs to cure before it can carry a pole and backboard. Your expert returns to finish once it has.
Can you install a hoop I bought anywhere else?
Yes — Costco, Dick’s, Amazon or direct from the brand. Every job is fixed-price upfront, whatever you bought.
Do I need to supply concrete?
Only if you choose to — the page offers it either way, and supplying your own lowers the price.
Can you install on a slope or next to the garage?
Your expert checks the location with you before digging; most driveways and side yards work, and they will tell you if a spot does not.
Can I choose my appointment date?
Yes — you set your appointment preference when you book, and scheduling is flexible if that changes.
